A PRACTICAL GUIDE

Understand what the validator actually checks

This tool performs basic structural checks on pasted CSS, including brace counts, comment delimiter counts, and empty blocks. It can help spot a missing closing brace while experimenting. It does not implement the full CSS specification or verify that every property, value, or selector is supported.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste a short stylesheet or use the sample. Run validation and read each reported structural issue.
  2. Check the surrounding rule manually when a brace or comment count does not match. Characters inside strings can confuse a simple check.
  3. Fix the input, run the check again, then test in browser developer tools or a full standards validator.

The missing brace is the kind of issue this tool can flag. An unsupported property or misspelled value may still pass because the tool does not parse every declaration. A successful result means only that its limited checks passed.

Example to try in your project
/* A closing brace is missing here */
.card {
  color: #0f172a;

/* Corrected */
.card {
  color: #0f172a;
}

Before you ship

Do not treat a passed check as a guarantee of valid, accessible, secure, or browser-compatible output. Check the cascade, browser support, and final rendered behavior separately.
